How To Get Rid of Acne

Acne is one of the most common, yet difficult skin conditions to treat. It is different for everyone. Each person has a different skin type and often acne can affect even combination skin. Acne can play a part in a person’s self esteem and can keep a person from being their best. However, all is not lost when it comes to preventing acne. Being an acne sufferer myself, I have certainly found myself researching the best and most economical way to deal with my acne. Using my mineral makeup has helped me tremendously. I have found that using mineral makeup has kept me from breaking out like I used to with conventional makeup brands. For me, it is all the ingredients in mainstream makeup that irritates and causes my breakouts. Mineral makeup is more soothing to my skin and does not contain unnecessary oils, artificial ingredients and preservatives. Another thing that helps me is that I wash my makeup brushes once a week with an antibacterial soap and let them air dry. This prevents bacteria from building on the brushes, which could then affect my skin. Our Taklon brushes are very durable and do not shed hair like some other makeup brushes I have tried. Although these brushes are readily available I like them so much that I have decided to carry them on my site. They are very soft, inexpensive and do not smell when washed as they are not made from animal hair. I have also found that having a healthy diet, avoiding too much sugar and greasy foods helps me.
Other things that can affect acne would be stress, hormone imbalance and not using the proper skin care. You may be wondering what is acne? So I will use the Wikipedia definition here:
Acne vulgaris (commonly called acne) is a common skin condition, caused by changes in pilosebaceous units, skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland, via androgen stimulation. It is characterized by noninflammatory follicular papules or comedones and by inflammatory papules, pustules, and nodules in its more severe forms. Acne vulgaris affects the areas of skin with the densest population of sebaceous follicles; these areas include the face, the upper part of the chest, and the back. Severe acne is inflammatory, but acne can also manifest in noninflammatory forms.[1] Acne lesions are commonly referred to as pimples, blemishes, spots, zits, or simply acne
I have found a wonderful website that offers so much help and support to those with acne. Dan, the creator of this site, has put such helpful and much needed information for people out there who are sick of dealing with breakouts! He has a skin care routine that really helps get acne under control and is the same routine that I follow. The site offers reviews on over the counter skin care for acne and Dan is very informative and makes his videos fun and easy to follow.
